Pretty hard to take advice about being “different” when the author’s marketing campaign is distinctly NOT. Were they purposely making a point by repeating something just familiar enough to hook me? Hard to tell, since marketing is all about repetition and recognition. For those who catch the similarity, the irony is pronounced. Which begs the question–can you PLAN to stand out from the crowd by being different or does it just happen when you truly follow your muse?
